The project will be completed in March 2008, before the Olympic game. The hangar will be the biggest one in Asia, which can provide maintenance services for Boeing and Airbus series planes, including the gigantic A380. Deputy General Manger of China Civil Aviation, Yao Weiting, CEO of German Lufthansa, Wolfgang Mayrhuber, the President of Air China, Ma Xulun, Director of Airworthiness Management of CAAC, Zhang Hongying, Vice President of Air China, Ma Kuiliang, General Manager of Project Technology Company of Air China, He Li and the deputy Director of Infrastructure Construction Committee of Beijing, Luan Decheng attended the ceremony. The ceremony was preceded by Ma Xulun's speech. He said, the Terminal No. 3, which is built for the Olympic 2008 in Beijing is close to completion. All the passengers of Air China will enjoy this newly built modern building when it's completed. The hangar to build will be used for maintenance of CA flights. Investing and building the hangar for A380, is one of the actions of Ameco to improve its serving qualities and capabilities. General Manager of Ameco Chai Weixi and Dr. Schmitz said, he completed hangar will contribute greatly to Air China for its plane maintenance and for the customers around world as well. The hangar for A380 will ensure Ameco's advantage position in civil flight maintenance pattern where Beijing is pivot city. Hangar for A380 is north to Terminal No.3 of Beijing International Airport. The total building area is 70437 sqm; and the total investment for construction is RMB 700 million yuan. The hangar will be comprise of two units, working area and service area. The net span of the hangar will be 350.8 meters; the premise depth will be 110 meters; and the height of lower boom will be 30 meters. All the figures will be ranking No.1 in Asia. |
